Seamless, service, success
For us peace of mind is part of the package, every time
With a conference venue this spectacular you can expect a service to match, the small things taken care of, together creating an event to remember. You’ll have a helping hand from our dedicated event team supporting and looking after you every step of the way, keeping your event in safe hands, to make sure your day flows seamlessly.
Our team’s wealth of expertise and local knowledge sees our assistance extending beyond simply fantastic hospitality. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel our team will share those secret gems, if you’re after an insider’s recommendation for dinner we’ll suggest a selection of Cornwall’s finest, or if you’re dashing around during your stay simply let us know what you need and we’ll arrange private transport.
“It’s all about the little details which collectively contribute to that incredible first impression and wow factor.”
Nothing escapes Stef’s expert eye, and with her flair for fine dining, our conference spaces are exquisitely arranged, every time. With her unflappable composure, Stef steers events with swan-like serenity, greeting guests with a welcome worthy of a 5 star hotel.
10 years carving out a career in Cornwall’s competitive hospitality industry started as a stopgap. After studying Marine Biology & Ecology at Plymouth University, Stef discovered a talent and keenness for keeping customers happy.
It’s no surprise Stef loves the sea, and with water sports such as scuba diving and kayaking she keeps her toe in the water. Cornwall born and bred, Stef loves the county, but equally, loves exploring. On a trip to South Africa Stef dived with Great White Sharks.
Suffice to say, under her gentle exterior Stef conceals nerves of steel.
“What an amazing place to work: fantastic team, superb facilities, beautiful views! I love showing first time customers around the Conference Centre – there’s always such a sense of excitement and inspiration.“
Beth joined the family business St Austell Printing Company in 2011 and was instrumental in the move to brand new premises at St Austell Business Park. As Operational Manager for the entire Business Park, Beth’s remit is pretty broad, managing the office space and ensuring tenants have everything they need, and overseeing all operations for the Conference Centre.
Beth brought with her 15 years’ experience in event management, gained largely in the field of Sports’ Development. As well as all the usual exemplary high standards exhibited by events professionals, Beth’s fundamental focus is our customers and ensuring they always receive outstanding service. Her aim is to establish St Austell Conference Centre as the best conference and training venue in Cornwall.
Beth grew up in Cornwall and having carved a career in London and Bath, her love of the county could not be suppressed, and so she returned to St Austell with her young family so they can enjoy the great outdoors Cornwall offers in bundles.
Marketing & Communications Manager
“We have so many ways to communicate but face-to-face contact is still central to our visitor experience.”
With her love of words, Cat’s challenge is to channel her creativity, and convey to Cornwall and beyond the sheer excellence of such a spectacular space for a conference. Cat can usually be found in the Marketing Suite, negotiating the natter and chatter online, demonstrating astonishing self-control in not getting (too) distracted by panoramic sea views.
After 7 years as a Marketing Officer at Swansea University, Cat relocated to Cornwall in 2014. A Welsh girl at heart, having grown up by the sea, Cat concedes there are worse places to live than the Cornish Riviera.
The sea, the theatre, reading and castles keep Cat out of trouble. Running, cycling and swimming keep her fit (fuelled by her fondness for food and wine).
We do everything we can to make you and your visitors happy.
