New wedding fair venue
We love hearing visitor feedback on the uniqueness of our conference centre: the size of our space, the light, airy rooms, and the incredible views.
We love hearing these comments because we feel the character of our venue makes it more than just a professional place for conferences and meetings.
St Austell Wedding Fair
On Sunday 25th September the flexibility and spectacle of our venue are exposed as we host our second wedding fair.
Jules Hayden at Art of Weddings needed a new venue in Cornwall for her wedding fair when her previous location closed.
We were looking for a venue in St Austell that offered a versatile space to cope with the footfall and the essential free parking for exhibitors and visitors within easy access of a major road. We needed a space to attract and inspire brides-to-be as well as excellent facilities for Cornwall’s finest wedding creatives.
As soon as we walked through the doors we knew we wouldn’t find a more suitable space to host our wedding fairs and we were excited at the prospect of working with such a professional team.
Flexible venue
When Jules approached Stef our Conference Manager about holding a wedding fair at the conference centre, Stef considered the request with her usual open mind.
My first thought was, wow, wedding fair, why hadn’t we thought of that?! As to whether I thought we could do it, yes absolutely. That’s one of the things we’re really good at, adapting our space to suit the event.
Operations Manager Beth Mayman says Stef’s willingness to accept the challenge of hosting an event of that size on a weekend reveals the ethos behind St Austell Conference Centre.
When we created this space we always felt the space would speak for itself. The sheer size and flexibility of the space means we’re not confined to a specific type of event. And the space itself certainly seems to inspire people.
Eclectic events
That’s not to say running such eclectic events is always as easy as Stef and Beth make it look but Stef seems to enjoy the challenge.
There’s quite a lot of physical activity involved in getting everything ready for an event like this and luckily we have plenty of behind the scenes space to hide things away.
It’s like a different place when it’s set up. As you walk up the stairs the first thing you see is a mannequin draped in a floor length wedding gown.
As our visitors tell us, St Austell Conference Centre is a space that inspires them. A space to express themselves. A space where visitors leave with ideas, feeling creative.
This weekend visitors are likely to feel all the above emotions and more.
To entice brides and grooms to be, Jules is offering a gorgeous pair of earrings absolutely free to early bird brides and a fabulous £500 prize draw.
